Suzanne Lambert practises in inquests and inquiries, public law, medical law and disciplinary law.

Suzanne has extensive experience in public law and human rights, judicial review, public inquiries, with particular expertise in immigration and asylum, unlawful detention, prisons, and matters (inquests and inquiries) involving the police, healthcare service and the prison service.

She undertakes a wide range of common law cases, with a particular focus on healthcare, medical law and mental health, including clinical negligence and inquests, but also contractual matters involving institutions and GPs, cases involving ethical questions such as consent to treatment, human rights, mental health law, and confidentiality. She has particular expertise in cases involving serious and catastrophic injuries, IVF and surrogacy, and delayed diagnosis of cancer. She has experience with complex legal issues such as contributory negligence, apportionment between Defendants, fatal accident claims, consent, and secondary victim claims.

She also has significant experience in professional discipline and regulatory law, and has appeared in proceedings IOT and FTP proceedings in the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, including in relation to allegations involving dishonesty, exploitation of vulnerable persons, and conduct of a sexual nature .

She is recommended as a leading junior by both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.

Suzanne has appeared in a number of different fora (including Tribunals, Coroner’s Courts, the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council, and the Nursing and Midwifery Council), and she has experience of all levels of courts, from the County Court up to the Supreme Court and Privy Council.
