David has rapidly developed a successful practice across a number of specialist areas of Chambers work. He is happy to accept instructions across the full range of civil work. His practice ranges from dealing with high value professional negligence claims and commercial disputes, to assisting in a cost-effective manner with low value personal injury claims. He has extensive experience of general civil litigation, including: personal insolvency, mortgage possession, landlord and tenant, debt recovery, charging orders, orders for sale, interim applications, case management hearings and infant approval hearings.

He has extensive advocacy experience, appearing in Court on an almost daily basis since joining Chambers. David also has a strong paperwork practice and is happy to assist in an advisory capacity in a practical, cost sensitive manner.

David has excellent client care skills, with his friendly and no-nonsense approach being commended by both instructing solicitors and lay clients. David prides himself on helping clients to find practical solutions to minimize the stress and cost of their legal disputes.

Prior to joining Chambers, David worked for the Council of the Inns of Court (COIC) on the Disciplinary Tribunals and Hearings Review chaired by Desmond Browne QC. He worked extensively with senior barristers and members of the judiciary; assisting with complex areas of law as well as providing pragmatic, and often inventive, solutions to problems. David was commended in the Review Group’s Final Report for his gifted and assiduous work. Whilst at COIC, he supported and advised the Tribunals Appointments Body with the recruitment of panel members to sit on barrister disciplinary hearings.
