1COR welcomes three new pupils in Brighton - Oct 2023
Jake joined 1 Crown Office Row Chambers as a pupil in October 2023. Since commencing pupillage, Jake has began developing a broad civil and commercial practice. Jake has gained valuable experience in many legal domains including property, commercial and civil work. Jake is now accepting instructions in these areas.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Jake was a guest lecturer at both UCL and LSE in tort and contract law. At LSE, Jake was recognised for excellent teaching by the Dean of the Law School.
During Jake’s legal training, he was awarded the highest mark of the year in tort law at The University of Law (London Bloomsbury Campus) and achieved the highest mark of his cohort in submissions advocacy at the ICCA, while completing the Bar Training Course.
Before pursuing a career as a barrister, Jake worked as a campaign strategist and organiser for a national political party. He was also elected as the youngest district councillor in the South East in 2018. Jake has also spent time volunteering at Citizen’s Advice and co-founded a rural LGBT+ support group, which helped over 50 people in its first year
