Welcoming Esme Cairns and Emily Millard as new tenants - Oct 2024
Emily joined chambers as a tenant in October 2024 following the successful completion of her pupillage, during which she was supervised by Claire Fox, Tim Hussein, and Rebecca Davies. Emily accepts instructions in all areas of family law.
Prior to joining Chambers, Emily worked as a paralegal in the Care Department of a regional family law firm. Emily provided casework and support to vulnerable clients and regularly represented parents at Public Law Outline meetings.
Emily also volunteered as an advisor for IPSEA for a number of years, providing specialist legal advice to help children and young people with special educational needs access appropriate education and support.
Children (Public Law)Emily is regularly instructed in care proceedings and appears for local authorities, parents, Guardians and Special Guardians. Emily has experience representing clients at all stages of proceedings, including Final Hearings, and has represented clients in the High Court in Deprivation of Liberty applications.
Emily represents all parties in private law proceedings, including experience representing Children’s Guardians.
Emily is regularly instructed to represent both Applicants and Respondents in proceedings for non-molestation orders and occupation orders, including where they are being heard alongside children proceedings.
Emily accepts instructions in financial remedies proceedings.
