Hope Spalding specialises in family law, both in Public and Private Family Law matters. Hope has a busy practice and is regularly instructed to represent vulnerable clients.

Outside of court, Hope is a pupil supervisor and an integral part of the pupil interview process. Hope presents seminars to solicitors and other legal professionals on various family law topics.
Children (Public Law)Hope is frequently instructed in care proceedings acting for Local Authorities, Guardians and Parents, including urgent hearings, contested EPOs and ICOs, through to final hearings.
Hope represents parents with complex needs including clients with substance misuse issues, learning difficulties and poor mental health. Hope is also regularly instructed to appear in FDAC proceedings.
As well as undertaking final hearings, Hope regularly deals with emergency hearings before the court, including ICOs and EPOs. She also deals with out of hour applications.
Hope is regularly instructed in complex private law matters including cases involving implacable hostility and where there are allegations of domestic abuse. Hope is instructed at all stages of proceedings from First Hearing and Dispute Resolution Appointments, all the way through to final hearings. Hope is often instructed to represent clients at difficult and lengthy fact-finding hearings. Hope regularly represents r16.4 Guardians.
Hope appears at both without notice and on notice hearings for both non-molestation and occupation orders. She has acted successfully for both Applicants and Respondents through to final hearing including cases where Family Law Act and Children Act matters overlap.
