Hope accepts instructions in both Public and Private Family Law matters. Hope is regularly instructed to represent vulnerable clients and is instructed in complex matters.
Prior to joining the Bar, Hope volunteered as an advisor for Sussex University Family Law Clinic and worked with Triangle, helping train police officers when questioning young or vulnerable victims and witnesses.
Hope is now administrator for the Sussex Family Justice Board and volunteers with the University of Brighton Law Clinic, whilst maintaining her busy practice.
Children (Public Law)Hope is frequently instructed in care proceedings, acting for Local Authorities, Guardians, parents and grandparents.
Hope has been instructed in complex final hearings. She has appeared in proceedings involving substance misuse, neglect, domestic abuse, mental health and non-accidental injury. Hope is also regularly instructed to appear in FDAC proceedings.
As well as undertaking final hearings, Hope regularly deals with emergency hearings before the court, including ICOs and EPOs. She also deals with out of hour applications.
Hope is instructed on a regular basis to represent both Applicants and Respondents in private law cases.
This is at all stages of proceedings from First Hearing and Dispute Resolution Appointments, all the way through to final hearing. She has been instructed in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and substance misuse.
Hope is experienced at dealing with vulnerable clients.
In addition, Hope accepts instructions to represent clients in children arbitration. She has undertaken training in Children Arbitration from Julie Stather, MCI Arb, who co-authored the paper to IFLA proposing the extension of the arbitration scheme to children matters.
