We are pleased to announce that Julie Stather has been appointed as a Recorder. She will be sitting in Family on the South Eastern circuit.
Julie has been practising in family law for over 20 years and is a specialist in children matters. She is instructed in serious public law cases involving issues such as sexual abuse, chronic neglect (including medical neglect), FII and injuries to children. She also handles complex private law cases involving implacable hostility and relocation.
She will continue her practice from 1COR alongside her judicial commitments.
Julie is a Family Law Arbitrator and is heavily involved in the scheme having co-authored the paper proposing arbitration for children’s matters. She is well known as an author both for legal periodicals and for her textbook on secure accommodation. She also sits as a First Tier Tribunal Judge in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
