Delighted to announce that Emma-Louise Fenelon has been appointed to the Bar Standards Board (BSB) Independent Decision Making Body (IDMB).
The BSB IDMB decides, in cases of apparent BSB Handbook breaches, whether to pass the case on to a Disciplinary Tribunal, to deal with the case themselves under the Determination by Consent rules, or, if there is not enough evidence that the rules have been broken, to dismiss the case.
The IDBM also makes decisions about appeals that have been made against a decision not to license a body to provide legal services, or appeals against decisions not to allow a barrister or authorised body not to meet specific BSB Handbook requirements.
Panel members are appointed for a 3 year term.
