Philip himself took over as Head of Chambers from his predecessor, Robert Seabrook QC, on October 2nd 2006 and has been re-elected unopposed for two further four-year terms. At that time, Chambers had 55 Members in London (14 of them QCs) and 34 in Brighton. In the intervening period, not only has Philip presided over the steady growth of Chambers which now has 68 Members in London (25 of whom are QCs) and 55 in Brighton, he has maintained his own highly successful Clinical Negligence, Human Rights and Public Law practice. Philip has led Chambers with his characteristic intelligence, judgement, good humour and authority.
Richard, a native of South Wales, arrived in Chambers as a pupil in 1993 and took Silk in 2013. Richard has developed a successful practice in Clinical Negligence, Professional Discipline, Personal Injury (especially brain and sports injuries), Costs, Inquests and Sports Law. Richard is very popular with members and staff alike and was elected unopposed. He is described by Chambers and Partners as “an excellent negotiator with exceptional analytical and organisational skills” – in other words, he is perfectly suited to the role of Head of Chambers.
Simon Sinnatt remains the current Head of One Crown Office Row’s Brighton Annex.
