Francesca Lewington, acting for the RSPCA in RSPCA v B [2016], successfully prosecuted the defendant in relation to multiple horse neglect. On arrival of the RSPCA to inspect the animals, one of the horses was found collapsed and close to death. The horses were described by vets as emaciated. The trial lasted eight days in the magistrates court and involved reviewing evidence in relation to the horses’ diet and environment.
