On Friday 3rd April 2015 Tim Bergin captained the team ‘The Sea Snails’ (including Paul Ashwell, Eleanor Battie and pupil, Alex Matthews) in a sponsored Swimathon at Haywards Heath Leisure Centre.
This is an annual event which involves the team competing to swim as many lengths as possible in 60 minutes. Last year the team managed first place on the podium in their category.
This year, first place was not quite attained but the monies raised far exceeded any previous years (over £600). This is particularly appreciated as the main charity to whom the sponsorship will be donated is ‘The British Heart Foundation’ in memory of our sadly missed colleague Ghulam Hussein, who passed away earlier this year.
