Each year the Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA) invites a panel of legal professionals to review the year in human rights law. 2019 has been an interesting year including First 100 Years of women in law, 30 years of the Children Act 1989, Extinction Rebellion, Miller No 2, Shamima Begum and the first Grenfell Tower Inquiry Report as well as facial recognition technology, abortion buffer zones, child covert intelligence, the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia, Birmingham Pub Bombings 1974. This year, Shaheen Rahman QC joins a panel including Harriet Wistrich, David Anderson QC, Tony Murphy, and is chaired by Angela Patrick.
