Natasha Barnes appeared on behalf of the Secretary of State in this high profile litigation challenging the use of children as informants in criminal investigations. The case was brought by the charity, Just 4 Kids, who argued that there were inadequate safeguards in place to protect the best interests of the child.

The High Court rejected the challenge concluding that there was an adequate “system of oversight” in place and that the scheme as a whole was lawful. Natasha Barnes was led in this matter by James Eadie QC.
