Dominic Ruck Keene and Robert Mills have contributed articles to the Avma Newsletter, published in July 2026.
In this edition, Dominic examines the High Court decision in ABC and another v XYZ [2026] EWHC 879 (KB), while Robert provides an analysis of the Supreme Court’s significant judgment in CCC v Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust [2026].
Although ABC v XYZ may not at first appear to have direct relevance to clinical negligence practitioners, Dominic highlights an aspect of the judgment that warrants careful consideration. In particular, practitioners may be interested in the court’s approach to assessing a Smith v Manchester award in the context of psychiatric injury.
