Welcoming our 2023 pupils Paula Kelly and Rebekah Lee - Oct 2023
Rebekah joined chambers as a pupil in October 2023 and is building experience in all of chambers’ practice areas.
Prior to joining chambers, Rebekah represented a client in the employment tribunal through her voluntary work at the Free Representation Unit (FRU). She previously worked as a housing and welfare benefits paralegal with the charity Release: Drugs, The Law and Human Rights. This built upon her previous experience as the manager of a small team, advising and supporting clients in the North Kensington area; many affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Here, Rebekah also provided immigration advice as a qualified Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner Level 1 Immigration Advisor. This furthered her previous voluntary work at the Notre Dame Refugee Centre, Support Through Court and Salusbury World refugee charity.
Immediately before starting pupillage Rebekah spent three months in South Africa, working with a leading human rights organisation assisting with constitutional matters and indigenous land rights. As a lover of the outdoors, she spent a month in Iceland nannying seven children, enjoyed hiking the Camino de Santiago and completed research with an agricultural community on the Israel/Jordanian border.
