Lance is interested in the interplay between criminal matters and public and civil law, including inquests, judicial review and private claims.
He has successfully represented claimants in cases brought against the police (and private bodies) for unlawful arrest, false imprisonment, assault and human rights claims. Likewise, he has acted for the police in a range of matters including inquests, judicial review matters and civil claims. He is currently instructed by the police in an article 2 investigative duty claim.
Lance has particular experience in prison discrimination claims, having acted for both claimants and defendants in relation to claims relating to disability and religion.
