Emma Whitting was a junior tenant at 1 COR and elected to the Treasury ‘A’ Panel before taking a career break to look after her young family. On returning to work she initially worked as an employed barrister for Capsticks LLP where she specialised in inquest advocacy and later moved to Browne Jacobson LLP as an Associate Barrister in its Advocacy Unit.

Emma has extensive experience in advising/representing public and private sector clients and at inquests and other inquiries. She was appointed Assistant Coroner for the Area of Coventry in 2014. Since obtaining a number of further coronial appointments in the West Midlands, she has now returned to Chambers where she continues to accept instructions from her previous clients as well as new clients under the Direct Access scheme. In 2018 she was appointed Senior Coroner for the Bedfordshire and Luton Coronial Area.
