Darragh Coffey, instructed by Jack Waller of the MDU, has successfully represented a dentist, who was accused of clinical negligence, in a multi-track clinical negligence trial. The allegations made against the Defendant related to an alleged failure to obtain the patient’s informed consent, and the allegedly negligent administration of local anaesthetic. Expert evidence was produced by both the Claimant and the Defendant, and Darragh was successful in arguing that the evidence of the Defendant’s expert should be preferred.

The Court found that the Claimant had not established her claim against the Defendant. The claim therefore failed and was dismissed.
