Darragh Coffey will speak at the UK Environmental Law Association (UKELA) annual conference today at 12pm. Darragh, Dr Inga Winkler of the Central European University, and Sir Crispin Agnew KC will form the panel in a session entitled: ‘Is there a Human Right to Healthy Water – Potential Liability for Persistent Water Polluters in Human Rights Law’. In discussing this hot topic in environmental litigation, the panel will consider the potential use of human rights and the concept of the rights of nature in seeking remedies for water pollution, the obstacles to this, and what if any are the solutions for overcoming these obstacles.
