Dominic Ruck Keene was instructed by Sian Davis and Chloe Hopkins of Keoghs on behalf of The Air Ambulance Service in three inquests before HM Assistant Coroner in Nottingham. The inquests followed two fatal stabbings and one resuscitative hysterotomy. Significant concerns had been raised by the lead trauma consultant at the local Major Trauma Centre about the appropriateness of pre hospital emergency surgery performed by critical care clinicians from The Air Ambulance Service, and the coroner requested an expert report from a Critical Care Consultant into all three incidents. However, in all three inquests, the Coroner commended the clinicians from The Air Ambulance Service and from East Midlands Ambulance Service for their care and made no finding as to any potentially causative failing. Further, she acknowledge the progress made by The Air Ambulance Service in improving information sharing and cooperation within the East Midlands Trauma Network.
