In 2017, a scheduled broadcast by Louis Farrakhan on the topic of transatlantic slavery reparations was not allowed by the authorities due to his previous controversial statements and concerns over a counter-protest at the event. In a legal first, the High Court found that this infringed the claimants’ rights under Article 9 and Article 10 of the Human Rights Act 1998.
