Kate Beattie acted for the family of Robin Brett at a four day inquest into his death at Swindon’s Great Western Hospital. Robin, who suffered from Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, died on 14 June 2014. The Hospital had failed to give him medication for his condition, for which he was prescribed cortisol.
The Wiltshire Coroner found that there was a failure to provide basic medical care in not administering the prescribed drugs and in failing to observe/act on abnormal observations. The conclusion was death by natural causes contributed to neglect.
Kate was instructed by Withy King LLP.
