Jeremy Hyam (instructed by Leigh Day) represented the family of Alice Mason at the Inquest into her death. Having previously undergone treatment for a brain tumour, Alice was 2 years old when she died after doctors failed to spot that she had fluid on the brain. Alice’s care was shared between three London Hospitals: Kingston Hospital in Surrey, the Royal Marsden in West London and St George’s Hospital in South London. The Coroner ruled in a narrative verdict that her death was both premature and “avoidable”.
