Philippa Whipple QC has been appointed lead counsel to the “Detainee Inquiry”. The Inquiry will look into allegations that the UK Government and its intelligence agencies were involved in ill treatment of detainees held by other countries (eg in Guantanamo Bay) on suspicion of terrorist activity in the aftermath of 9/11.
