The Thirlwall Inquiry begins today – five Members of Chambers instructed - Sep 2024
Thomas joined Chambers as a tenant in September 2022 after 12 months of pupillage at 1COR. During pupillage he was supervised by Matthew Barnes, Shahram Sharghy, David Manknell and Emma-Louise Fenelon.
Thomas is building experience in all of Chambers’ practice areas, and since joining 1COR he has appeared several times as sole counsel in the Court of Protection. He is currently instructed by solicitors representing the Chief Medical Officer in the Covid-19 Inquiry.
Thomas was a practising surgeon before turning to a career in law and, in addition to a full time medical practice, led a safe surgery initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo and has acted as an expedition medic for a field study undertaken in the Peruvian Amazon. Before joining chambers, he volunteered at the Free Representation Unit (FRU).
