Sally Smith KC has specialised in medical law for the past fifteen years. She has extensive experience of clinical negligence claims acting for both claimants and defendants and has developed a particular interest in class actions. She represented the NHS in the Benzodiazephine claims, the RAGE breast radiation claims and the Liverpool and Nationwide Organ Retention claims.
In more recent years she has defended one high profile case in the General Medical Council and prosecuted a number. She led the prosecution in the GMC of the doctors involved in the MMR issues.
She acted for the Strategic Health Authority in the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry.
