Robert Kellar has a broad civil, regulatory and public law practice which encompasses: clinical negligence, personal injury, professional discipline, judicial review/human rights, healthcare inquests and employment law.
He was highly recommended as a leading junior, now as a new silk, by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. He is a member of the Attorney General’s A-Panel of counsel.
In clinical negligence he is instructed by both Claimants and Defendants and has considerable experience in complex, multi-party and high value claims. He deals with all types of case including in claims involving brain injury, spinal injury, vascular injury and missed cancer diagnoses. He was recently instructed as junior counsel for the Claimants in the Ian Paterson group ligation.
Robert is recognised as a leading silk in personal injury law. He is instructed by both Claimants and Defendants, including by major Government Departments. He has experience in all types of personal injury, road traffic cases and accidents at work. Robert is also instructed in cases involving allegations of historic assault and sexual abuse.
Robert acts for doctors and other health practitioners in cases before the MPTS, GDC, NMC, RPhC and other healthcare tribunals. He is regularly instructed in cases involving regulatory appeals to the High Court or judicial reviews of regulatory decisions. Robert also acts for healthcare practitioners in an employment law context, including in disciplinary proceedings.
Robert has extensive experience in public, administrative law and human rights. He acts for both Claimants and Defendants. As a member of the Attorney General’s A-Panel of counsel he is regularly instructed to appear on behalf of government departments in the High Court and Court of Appeal. He also has a particular interests in cases involving immigration, unlawful detention and healthcare issues.
Robert acts for both claimants and respondents, including a range of government departments, in the Employment Tribunal and in the EAT. He has particular experience in unfair dismissal and all types of discrimination and victimisation claims.View full profile »
