Rajkiran Arhestey successful for HMRC in VAT classification dispute - Sep 2025

Since 2024 Kiran has been working with Angus McCullough KC and Matthew Hill on the McCullough Review, an independent review of the conduct of the Police Service of Northern Ireland relating to covert measures against journalists, lawyers and others of ‘special status’ between 2011 and 2024. Further details are available on the Review’s website.
Kiran was instructed on the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, as part of the Inquiry team, from 2018, working on the investigation into the performance of the lifts on the night of the fire. She was involved at every stage of the process, carrying out document review, working with the appointed expert, preparing for the hearings and drafting the final report. At the hearings in June 2021, Kiran conducted advocacy, questioning the managing director of the lift manufacturer at Grenfell Tower.
