Since completing pupillage at 1 Crown Office Row in October 2023, Nicholas has quickly built up a wide range of advocacy experience, having appeared unled in an extensive range of trials (including on the multi track), inquests, and interlocutory hearings.
Nicholas has recently been instructed as part of the Counsel to the Inquiry Team in the Nottingham Inquiry (led by Rachel Langdale KC). The public hearings ran from February to June 2026, during which Nicholas questioned a number of witnesses. The Inquiry has been examining the events, acts and omissions that led up to Valdo Calocane killing three people and seriously injuring three others in Nottingham city centre in June 2023.
Nicholas is currently growing his practice in areas of Public Law (including Ratings), having recently been appointed to the Attorney General’s C Panel of Counsel (to commence 1 September 2026). He is happy to consider instructions across all of Chambers’ core areas.
