Tax
Gideon has a growing practice in VAT and indirect tax. He has appeared in a number of customs classification appeals concerning fire alarms, plywood panels and others. Notable cases include:
- HMRC v International Plywood (Importers) Limited [2023] UKUT 00278 (TCC)
- Nexans Norway v HMRC [2024] UKFTT 782 (TC)
- Whittalls Wines Limited and Another v HMRC[2018] UKFTT 0036(TC)
He also has experience of cases involving MTIC frauds, the ‘fall-back’ provisions and anti-dumping duty.
He is the editor of the 1COR Tax Newsletter.
