Second inquest concludes neglect contributed to neonate’s avoidable death - Dec 2024
Clodagh Bradley KC specialises in clinical negligence, inquests with a medical or psychiatric element to them and healthcare regulatory law.
Clodagh undertakes complex and maximum value clinical negligence claims on behalf of Claimants and Defendants. A large proportion of her work involves perinatal brain injury, other acquired brain or spinal injuries and catastrophic life-changing or fatal injuries. Her practice has included interesting legal points arising in wrongful birth matters (Mordel), fatal claims (Rupasinghe), secondary victim claims (Werb) and vicarious liability / non-delegable duty issues.
In her inquest practice, Clodagh acts for a wide range of interested persons including families and clinicians. A number of her recent cases have related to maternal or neonatal deaths. The inquests she is instructed in often involve human rights issues and controversial ethical elements, as well as holding various state institutions to account or defending them.
Clodagh has acted in a broad variety of disciplinary cases, ranging from doctors before the MPTS to veterinary surgeons before the RCVS, as well as cases brought by the GDC, the GOsC, the GOC and the NMC.
