Allyna accepts instructions across all of 1 Crown Office Row’s areas of specialism, with particular expertise in medical, regulatory, public, and immigration law. She has a keen interest in human rights work across practice areas and is the Assistant Editor of the UK Human Rights Blog.

Allyna is regularly instructed in immigration and administrative law matters. She has appeared unled in the High Court, the County Court, and the First-tier Tribunal. Allyna is currently on secondment to HM Revenue and Customs and was previously seconded to a leading claimant public law firm where she assisted on significant cases involving gender rights, free speech, and actions against the police.

Allyna previously practised as a lawyer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she handled a variety of matters in all aspects of civil litigation, including high-profile cases involving freedom of religion and misfeasance in public office. Allyna has appeared both in her own right and led in the Industrial Tribunal, Sessions Court, High Court, and the Court of Appeal in Malaysia.

Before coming to the Bar, Allyna volunteered at a Greek refugee camp and worked at a non-governmental organisation in Malaysia specialising in strategic litigation and constitutional rights education. She has previous experience in the public law division of the Law Commission of England and Wales.

Allyna has a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford from which she graduated with First Class Honours and a number of academic prizes.
