Jeremy Hyam KC and Emma-Louise Fenelon, instructed by the GLD, acted on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care in a case concerning the extent to which expired consent to store embryos could be rectified by those wishing to use them.
The hearing considered 15 different applications and extensive argument as to the correct interpretation of the statutory regime in light of rights contained in the ECHR and given effect by the Human Rights Act 1998.
