The inquest into the tragic death of 11-year-old Kyra Hill concluded yesterday, with the Coroner concluding that she was unlawfully killed due to gross breaches in health and safety measures at a water park.
Kyra, age 11, was attending a birthday party at Liquid Leisure in Datchet near Windsor, Berkshire, when she drowned in a designated swimming area at the site. The coroner found that despite the depth of up to 4.67m and poor visibility of the water there were no signs and no demarcation indicating the deep water, and no control measures to take account of the risks presented.
Rachel Marcus, instructed by Harvinder Kaur at Fieldfisher, represented Kyra’s family throughout the inquest.
