Natasha and Darragh appear in the Administrative Court today on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the Minister For Health For Northern Ireland. The Claimants challenge secondary legislation that restricts the dispensing of puberty blockers to children and young persons suffering from gender dysphoria / incongruence, on the basis of prescriptions issued by private and online prescribers. The Claimants argue that the procedure by which these measures were introduced was unfair and unlawful. The Secretary of State and Minister maintain that the measures were properly introduced on the basis that certain prescribing practices in relation to these medications posed a serious danger to health.
