Pritesh Rathod has been appointed as an Independent Judicial Panel Chair by British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) for an initial term of 3 years. BUCS is the national governing body for higher education sports in the UK.
Pritesh will be required to chair panels in first instance and appeal cases relating to misconduct, bringing BUCS into disrepute, match appeals and any other disputes within BUCS’ remit.
Pritesh Rathod is a sought after barrister who specializes in the fields of clinical negligence, personal injury, inquests and sports law. He regularly appears in the High Court and County Courts in a wide range of hearings, with a particular strength in trials and appeals. He represents both claimants and defendants.
His experience includes advising on disputes between athletes and their governing bodies and personal injury and/or clinical negligence cases arising out of sporting injuries. He is a member of Sports Resolution’s pro bono panel of lawyers.
Pritesh will carry out his role with BUCS in addition to his full-time practice.
