Amy Mannion appeared for His Majesty’s Treasury before the Supreme Court yesterday, led by Jessica Simor KC (Matrix Chambers). The issue before the court was whether Court of Appeal was right to uphold the High Court’s order striking out this EU law damages claim. The case concerns whether the UK had breached EU law in 2012 by removing a VAT relief on low value goods sold into the UK on mail order from the Channel Islands.
