On 27th February 2023, the High Court handed down judgment in FGX v Gaunt, a damages claim arising from the publication of covertly taken nude images of the Claimant on a pornographic website alongside a photograph of her face. The Hon Mrs Justice Thornton noted that this case “is considered to be the first case of its type to come before the civil courts in England and Wales”.

Judgment on liability was given in favour of the claimant. The claimant was awarded £60,000 for pain, suffering and loss of amenity and breach of privacy, and a further £37,000 in special damages.

Justin Levinson acted for the Claimant, instructed by Farleys Solicitors.
