The inquests into the deaths of 11 men who were killed at the Shoreham Air Show in August 2015 have now started. David Manknell is representing the Air Accidents Investigation Branch, instructed by Government Legal Department.
The men lost their lives in August 2015 when a Hawker Hunter plane taking part in an air display crashed into the A27. The inquests were resumed in 2019 following the pilot’s acquittal for gross negligence manslaughter. There had been an lengthy pre-inquest process, including a previous application to the High Court by the Senior Coroner last year, in which David also represented the AAIB.
The inquest is expected to continue for three weeks.
