Michael Deacon recently acted for the family of a 17 year old girl, Jasmine-Jade Hill, at an inquest into her death held on 7-9 November 2022. Jasmine died on 22 September 2020 at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital shortly after routine surgery on her neck.
The coroner found that Jasmine’s death was caused by the inadvertent blockage of her oxygen tube by the trolley bed on which she was lying. The tube became blocked during the rotation of the bed. The blockage, which was not identified at the time, caused a sudden and severe deterioration from which Jasmine sadly did not recover.
Michael was instructed by Sevim Ahmet and Sarah Kingsley Fried of Fieldfisher.
