Lizanne Gumbel KC, instructed by Jill Greenfield and Emma Hall of Fieldfisher, recently represented the family of Zach Richardson in an inquest into his death. Zach was 18 years old when he was crushed to death while working on a farm in Norfolk. The inquest heard the medical cause of his death was “due to compression asphyxia” after he became trapped between a forklift truck he was driving and a wall.

Lizanne Gumbel KC told the inquest the truck Zach was driving was fitted with a seat sensor, and should have stopped moving when nobody was in the driver’s seat.
