Emma-Louise Fenelon recently returned from the Advanced Trial Advocacy Program in Florida, a one-week continuing legal education training seminar held at the University of Florida, Gainesville, sponsored by the Florida Bar. The South Eastern Circuit provides 4 scholarships each year to enable barristers from the UK to attend.

The course is based on a complex personal injury trial and is designed to provide in-depth, demonstration-based instruction of trial advocacy techniques through performance, critique and video review. This year training was provided with the assistance of Rebecca Tucker QC of Old Square Chambers and US judges and attorneys.

Whilst in Florida Emma-Louise was hosted by the Hon. Claudia Isom and visited local State, Federal and Appellate courts in Florida.

Further information on the course can be found here.
