Cara Guthrie recently acted for the parents of Quinn Parker, a baby who died in July 2021, in a 4 day inquest into his death. Quinn was delivered by emergency Caesarean section but suffered oxygen starvation in the womb and died just 36 hours after his birth. The Coroner identified a number of failings by the obstetricians at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Didcock found that there was a delay in recognising that there was placental abruption and that the necessary careful risk assessment did not take place. Accordingly no plan was made about the timing and mode of delivery and Quinn’s parents were not involved in such decisions. Cara was instructed by Switalskis Solicitors.
