Iain O’Donnell speaks about the ramifications of the Supreme Court decision in CN & GN v Poole Borough Council [2019] UKSC 25 at the APIL Abuse Conference 2019, held in conjunction with ACAL. He acted as senior junior for the appellant, led by Lizanne Gumbel QC, in this landmark case concerning the extent to which local authorities and their employees owe a common law duty to protect children from harm caused by third parties. Handouts and further details are available on the APIL website here.

Justin Levinson will follow on from this by discussing broader legal updates after a year of high profile abuse cases including the first case against an Uber driver, securing a conviction for abuse overseas against Douglas Slade and IICSA modules.
