Five years ago, Judge Peter Rook QC came up with the idea to recast Court One of the Old Bailey as a theatre. Forever Trial and Error was created, which offered vignettes of great trials of the past interspersed with music and song.

For 3 nights every March, the court is cleared and the a cast of judges, barristers, clerks take the stage to re-enact key moments from past cases to an audience of 130.

This year, Sally Smith QC has written scenes from Marshall Hall’s most famous trials.
