It’s a Lawyers Life, in collaboration with Crown Office Row – Brighton, will host an exclusive film screening and panel discussion examining the roots of radicalisation, possible solutions to counter it and how best the legal profession can deal with cases arising from it.

Screening at 6pm will be ‘Jihad’, the Bafta nominated documentary by award winning film maker Deeyah Khan. ‘Jihad’ involved two years of interviews and filming with Islamic extremists, convicted terrorists and former jihadis.

The screening will be followed by a keynote address by one of the former jihadis featured in the film who now advises child protection agencies on how best to handle cases of radicalisation. There will also be a panel discussion and Q+A in which Martin Downs will be speaking.

We particularly welcome professionals dealing with the fall out of radicalisation, including people working in local authorities, solicitors, barristers, judges, NGO’s and agencies working in this space.
