Neil Garnham QC of 1 Crown Office Row has been appointed by Rochdale Borough Council to lead the independent review into historic allegations of child abuse in Rochdale between 1961 and 1995. He will be assisted by Barristers Alasdair Henderson and Lois Williams. Katherine Sheldrick of Hempsons has been appointed as Independent Solicitor to the review. The Council’s Principal Solicitor, Jennifer Moss, has been seconded to the team for the duration of the review.
The team are starting work this week with the aim of reporting by the end of July 2014.
