Philippa Whipple QC has represented the family of Alice Warner who suffered from Retinopathy of Prematurity at Bedford Hospital in the first few days of her life. This left her blind in one eye and with limited vision in the other. The High Court on approving a £1.5million settlement agreed that appropriate treatment could have saved Alice’s sight. Bedford Hospital NHS Trust admitted liability.
