Claire is a highly rated practitioner with a burgeoning international environmental and public law practice. She was involved for a number of years in the Trafigura litigation while working at Leigh Day & Co solicitors and has developed her reputation as a barrister through her instruction in a number of other complex international tort actions.
Claire’s move to 1COR further strengthens its public law team and, in particular, its reputation and practice in claimant work in this field. This team was also recently strengthened by the recruitment of Amy Mannion, another public law and human rights practitioner. Claire’s arrival further bolsters the specialist environmental law team led by the highly regarded David Hart QC.
1COR is undertaking increasing amounts of high level litigation with a public/private law cross over, such as the Mau Mau case, in which its members represented both sides as well as the intervener. Members of chambers have also been involved in major public inquiries such as Baha Mousa, Leveson, Al-Sweady, Mid-Staffs, and inquests such as Hillsborough and Litvenenko.
Chambers is home to the highly successful UK Human Rights Blog, which has further enhanced the set’s growing profile for public law and human rights with an increasing emphasis on work for claimants. The 1COR Public Law team has also been running a series of successful “breakfast briefings”, giving our clients the opportunity to meet and discuss cutting edge topics in public law and human rights with like-minded practitioners (for more details, email events@1cor.com).
