Amy was leading counsel for HMRC in this case of JMC Electronics Ltd v HMRC. Dismissing the company’s appeal after a hearing lasting 7 days, the Tribunal found that JMC had “colluded in contrived transactions designed to bring about the fraudulent loss of VAT”. The Tribunal upheld HMRC’s decision not to repay more than £400,000 in VAT reclaimed by the company.
