Richard Ager

Richard transferred to the Bar in 2004 having been a solicitor for 23 years.

Richard is Co-chair of the Kent & Sussex FLBA, is active in the local FJB sitting on the committee and is fully involved with the Sussex Family Quality Circle.

Richard has provided training to Sussex and Worthing Law Societies on Court of Protection work and training on proceedings under Children Act 1989 as well as to the Local Authorities in the area. He has also led training on issues of Domestic Abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour and financial abuse.

Richard is heavily involved with the School of Business and Law at the University of Brighton and has been instrumental in setting up the Law Clinic there. He is an Associate Tutor at the School of Social Work at the University of Sussex.

Richard was Chair of Governors of a large primary school in West Sussex. Whilst in that role he had responsibility for Special Educational Needs provision which is another area of interest to him.
